Narrator: Viewers, Sahaja Yoga a unique Discovery and gift to mankind. Such spiritual journey which was started by News Dnn a few months back. and we didn’t realise when it becomes a big caravan. Viewers, we will take this journey forward and today we have Mrs Sushma Bansod from Nagpur, Let us ask her what she has got it in her spiritual journey and how the spiritual journey changed her life.

Interviewer: Friends once again you are welcome in Sahaj yoga a unique Discovery and gift to mankind. A unique journey which News Dnn has brought for you, where you became a part of it with our guests, The Spiritual journey which they are going through which they have started a few years back, how and when. They gave the answers themselves. What they have got from their spiritual journey. So our aim is to share that with you, as we share good news like we get  something in a cheap rate though the company doesn’t give us commission nor shopkeeper but we get the happiness to share the information with others. Maybe it is God who gives us that happiness, anything which benefits me and if I share that information with others, and if they too got the benefit then I feel happy. I think this is the system because of which today society is living because somewhere this feeling that “we have to give something to others” that is why country and the world is still functioning. Now we will welcome our guest Mrs Sushma in our studio she is a resident of Nagpur, she is a housewife along with that she is a qualified well educated, a great personality, a great woman who have given her 23 years in the banking services. We welcome you on behalf of our viewers, and start this journey which we have specifically created for all the peoples around the world so that they can get benefit through people like you.

I would like to ask you that how and when did you came in this spiritual journey which we call Sahaj yoga which was started by Shri Mataji, and what were the reasons?

Mrs Sushma Bansod: It was started by Shri Mataji on 5th May, 1970, in order to give relief to the common people, in order to give them spiritual upliftment. Earlier they used to wander in different places, but it can be so easy and knowing God can become so easy to prove that Shri Mataji has established Sahaj yoga and with the simple technique she awakened the dominant consciousness inside us, which become the medium to get connected with God.

Interviewer: Very beautiful, Sushma Ji when did you started doing Sahaja Yoga?

Mrs Sushma Bansod: Well I started doing a Sahaj yoga from 5th January 1992 and still now I am doing.

Interviewer: As you have given your introduction and also we have told our viewers about you that you were a good student and also you have looked at the household and there is nothing to talk about it because no matter how much a wife is working outside but her main responsibility to look after the house and to fulfill all the expectations of the family members remains, no matter if she is IAS officer or police officer but for her family is of great responsibility.

When you started doing Sahaj yoga, as you have told the journey before that and after you have started Sahaj so first of all we would like to know that whether you were doing any job when you came to Sahaj yoga?

Mrs Sushma Bansod: Yes.

Interviewer: In the banking industry?

Mrs Sushma Bansod: Yes in the banking industry, in which department you are working in the banking industry?

Mrs Sushma Bansod: I was working in clerical department at that time.

Interviewer: When you were working before coming to Sahaj and after coming to Sahaj, as we have discussed that women’s responsibility is not limited to her office but she has to look after her household, her children, her family because whenever there is something wrong the whole blame goes to mother so how did you manage to strike a balance between these two aspects of your life? and what is the difference that you felt?

Mrs Sushma Bansod: As I came to Sahaj yoga at that time my son was of 5 years old and was very naughty also he had an allergy problem of cogon grass, so after coming to Sahaj Yoga he is completely cured of allergies and the experience that me and my son had because of that we become more attached to Sahaj and we become more desperate in getting God.

Interviewer: Sushma Ji you are telling that your son had an allergy with cogon grass, that means he also had joined Sahaj along with you?

Mrs Sushma Bansod: Yes we together became the member of Sahaj.

Interviewer: Is it not strange for five-year-old child to do–

Mrs Sushma Bansod: Well, we took him with us and we him to become well.

Interviewer: So the question we had, what difference you felt because you were working and also looking after the household, so after you started Sahaj yoga, what is the biggest difference that you noticed?

Mrs Sushma Bansod: After we get the awakening with the blessings of Shri Mataji, so at the first day I felt that I didn’t have anybody, and I are completely in God’s hand and I’m floating in the air. And after that we felt good we didn’t know what was happening but whatever was happening was good and positive and I felt energetic.

Interviewer: Means you were feeling energetic while working in your daily routine and when you started to do it regularly. So we you would like to ask you an important thing that after a considerable time is passed and generally we had great enthusiasm initially before starting a new work. And if we talk about 20 to 22 years ago at that time yoga was not that popular as in today, now yoga is being promoted in a large scale in our country and also in outside, so joining  Sahaj yoga and continuing it for a period of 25 years and it is somewhere must be have been God’s blessing what is the difference that you felt as the time passed.

Mrs Sushma Bansod: After coming to sahaj yoga we were able to meet gurus and sat guru(true guru), and there are other gurus who tell to you to do japa mala, who used to say the God come to them, if they real then I would have tested them out, when I was young I used to test them during the periods I used to touch them without telling anybody, if they are real they should’ve catch me. And when that didn’t happen it was understandable that they were fraud. So I wanted that– as this a god’s gift to all women, if God has given us physical pain to every women, so isolating women, for this reason, is not acceptable. And after coming to Sahaj yoga I felt good that there was no superstitious, God always remains with us in time of periods and for that reason, we got more attracted towards Sahaj.

Interviewer: As you’re telling that you are from the banking industry after coming to Sahaj yoga what changes do you feel in your profession?

Mrs Sushma Bansod: In my profession, I got promotions gradually after becoming a manager, then I was appointed as special recovery officer so I worked in that post for two years it is not easy to sell people’s houses, it has their emotion and there are chances that we may get their curses. And in order to avoid that we used to try hard. And we used to get success in our objective. So I was successful in my tenure to do maximum recovery without having to do an auction. And times when we ultimately had to do an auction, and in those options there used to present 3-4 goon type peoples and I used to be single lady officer present there and in those days we didn’t used to get police protection. But we were never afraid of the situation that “I am alone and all of these Hooligans are there” or “I should fear for my life and if someone may behave in an insulting manner”. But I had the belief that Almighty God and universal consciousness with Shri Mataji’s blessings are always there with me and she is the one who is making me work, so therefore, I didn’t feel any pain in my working life.

Interviewer: You started doing the meditation and you join Sahaj yoga. And you have also told that you were appointed as special recovery officer and you had to sell people’s properties. But with all these you have also said that your child was also doing Sahaj yoga along with you when he was only 5 years old, tell me about it more. When children start to do Sahaj yoga– generally all our focus are on children, and we earn money for that only, and we do hard work so that our child can become civilized and educated. So these are the things that a father and mother wants first is education and second is character building. So it was obvious that when you join Sahaj yoga your husband too have joined it and other family members might have also joined. And if we talk especially about a child who starts doing Sahaj yoga at the age of 5 so what are the differences you felt in him, what are the benefits that the child got.

Mrs Sushma Bansod: First he took realisation in Sahaj Yoga, before that he had cogon grass allergy and because of this whole face used to swelled up like Hanuman Ji. His mouth, nose would come in one level and the chicks would bulge out. And when I came to Sahaj yoga I told him that “son we will do meditation upon God and we will do it regularly and we will get great blessings” and thus he started doing meditation.

Interviewer: That means a small 5-year-old kid was able to do meditation?

Mrs Sushma Bansod: He was just following whatever I was telling him, like “open your hands in front of Shri Mata Ji and ask whatever you want”.

Interviewer: Usually children are playful and if they sit there for a few time then it is a big thing.

Interviewer: So I told him to sit in front of Shri Mataji’s a picture, open your hands and ask him whatever you want. And he used to sit there, and use to pray that “mother, I am suffering from cogon grass and because of it I feel itching and swelling, please let me rid of them” and it so happened that when he used to play outside, he used to go and kick the grasses to see if he is cured. And used to come in front of Shri Mataji’s picture, and used to show that nothing has swelled up and then used to tell me to see “Maa, I asked in front of Shri Mataji and I didn’t have anything, and my allergy had also gone”. And gradually his interest grew more. As whatever we ask in front of mother, she fulfils that.

Interviewer: And he goes deep in meditation, what is the difference you felt in his education. Because we live in a society and in a family and also you are in a profession and obviously the discussions also happens like “my children does this and that, not listening to me, or children’s getting into the wrong association”. So what is the difference that you felt in your child and that of the others in the society?

Mrs Sushma Bansod: The first benefit that I got it was I never had to do his homework, as I didn’t get that much time because I had to look after the household and I had my mother in law and father in law and also we have a joint family I have to look after them also. So to give him time becomes very difficult, I used to tell him to do meditation in front of Shri Mataji for 5 minutes and in that 5 minutes, he is to do things early. He was academically very good, he used to remember everything in the first reading. Then gradually his vocabulary got

very strong. Initially we admitted him in Marathi medium school, I don’t like rote memorization. What is our own language and she Mataji had a great interest in Marathi language and so his fluency in Marathi got very strong and then we admitted him in semi English, so his English is also good, then he did his graduation, then post-graduation, also got his PhD and also started writing a textbook for the university.

Interviewer: Very beautiful, Sushma Ji you have told about your education because you to say that in Sahaj yoga there is no barrier of age what needs is your emotions, through which we till now wanted to do for the society, because all the while we have done everything for our family for ourselves for our children. So when you do something after 60 years so somewhere we know that you are doing it for society, now you are retired, as you have told that your son is a PhD holder and he is writing a textbook for University students so you are relieved from his responsibility also. Now you didn’t have any responsibility to do his homework?

Mrs Sushma Bansod: [laugh]

Interviewer: Your husband has also retired now if he was in governmental services. So now what is your daily routine at this point of age? Because generally, people say that we have nothing to do.

Mrs Sushma Bansod: As Shri Mataji have told us, we wake up in the morning at 5 a.m and do the meditation and after that do cooking and likewise the daily routine is continuing. And sometimes if I had to go for awareness and we are always ready for helping anyone.

Interviewer: So friend this was our meeting with Sushma Ji. Who has efficiently meet the responsibility of a housewife, a mother, and a wife? And she also told about joint family and in India by joint family we mean to live with our father-in-law and mother-in-law. And if we have a brother-in-law, sister-in-law in the house they are treated as our own brother and sisters, to take all their responsibilities and to give them affection and to carry out all the duties is the responsibility of a woman. After taking care of all of this she is an employee in the banking services and she with very ease took care of her children’s education though she never helped in doing the homework but then also she had enormous contribution in his character building and education. As we are moving forward in our journey with Sahaj yoga we can see one thing very clearly without changing outwardly without speaking how to end evil in the society and how to make our society beautiful, educated and the biggest thing is how to make it civilized? and maybe Sahaj yoga a unique Discovery and it is a real gift to mankind. Sushma Ji we thank you for coming to our News Dnn studio and we will try to help you and wherever and whatever work you do, News Dnn will always be with you. And one thing you have said very beautifully that your mother tongue is Marathi. We would like you to speak in Marathi especially for Marathi audience, about Sahaja Yoga one line, two lines, four lines on how they can overcome social ills, how they can overcome their daily problems, how beautifully they assimilate Sahaj yoga in their life.

Mrs Sushma Bansod: …

Interviewer: So friends this was our meeting with Sushma ji, she is a resident of Nagpur. And this journey will continue with the objectives of having a peaceful and satisfied life, so give us permission to leave, on behalf of News Dnn greetings to all of you.
